Izumo prayer salt (kamishio) is sacred salt collected from the sea and blessed at Japan's ancient Izumo Taisha shrine.
It is used traditionally for purification, warding off evil, and bringing good fortune, coming from a purification ritual and prayers were performed by the Shinto priests.
This innovative spray form can be used to release the salt around doorways, per tradition.
